THE HARMONICA PLAYERS:
ADAM GUSSOW’S BLUES DOCTORS: Headlining this time will be World-Class, Legendary Harmonica and Vocalist, the incredible ADAM GUSSOW! Adam is well known as part of the World-Class Blues duo, “Satan & Adam” with recordings on Flying Fish, New Rounder, Rave-On and Modern Blues Harmonica Record Labels. As Satan and Adam, Sterling “Mister Satan” Magee and Adam were a fixture on Harlem‘s sidewalks in the 1980s and 1990s. Satan and Adam played several comeback gigs in Mississippi, where Gussow is currently an associate professor at the University of Mississippi. More recently Adam has formed the “Blues Doctors”, an outstanding Blues duo, touring as a recording artist with the Modern Blues Harmonica record label.
JOHNNY MARINO: As a teen Johnny was drawn to the Blues Harmonica via records by Paul Butterfield, Magic Dick, Taj Mahal, Lee Oskar, James Montgomery and James Cotton. In the 1980’s Johnny was an original member of Massachusetts based “Wildcat Ohalloran Band” then in the 1990’s Johnny spent several years as a member of South Florida based Blues band “The Nucklebusters”, which Harp chair was later occupied by Harp Great “Jason Ricci”. In 1999 Johnny formed “The Johnny Charles Band”.
Johnny quickly became a popular Harp Blower in South Florida due to his “No Holds Barred”,muscular, in your face Blues Harp Tone and soulful Vocals. Johnny, along with Dennis Gruenling are on a CD out of South Florida called “Showcasing The Blues Volume 4” Harp Blowing Blues from South Florida on the “Mosher St Records label” which showcase his Haunting Harmonica instrumental “Blues for Nance”. Johnny has shared the stage with the likes of monster talent such as Gregg Allman, Bo Diddley, Junior Wells, Koko Taylor, Albert Collins and Ronnie Earl.
These days, Johnny can be seen and heard fronting his Popular New England Blues Act “BluesHead”. Johnny can also be seen sitting in with his good buddy, Super –Star Harp Player, Jason Ricci and The Bad Kind, whenever he’s touring up North.
CHRIS STOVALL BROWN: If that’s not enough, how about a Smokin Hot set of Blues by Boston Blues Star, CHRIS STOVALL BROWN! In the 1980’s Chris appeared 3 times on NBC’s “Today Show” with Cambridge Harmonica Orchestra and played shows with “Buddy Guy”, Roy Buchanan, Bo Didley and Martha Reeves. In the 90’s Chris recorded on CD’s with Earring George, Ron Levy, Henry Lee Spencer and Boston Blues Blast while working with greats James Cotton and John Mayall. Recently Chris produced 2 critically acclaimed CD’s with Watermelon Slim, with whom he tours internationally, and appears on CD’s by Chicago Bob Nelson, Shorty Billups and Sax Gordon. Chris plays regionally with James Montgomery, The Colby’s, J Geils, Jeff Pitchell, Madeleine Hall and his own “Chris Stovall Brown Band”.
THE KOSHER KID: Rounding out the evening’s fun, Blues fans will be treated to a set of fine Blues Harp playing and Soulful Vocals by New England Blues Harp Burner, THE KOSHER KID!! Fans know the Kid from his days recording and gigging with “Dave Robbins Band”, Boston’s “West End Blues Band” and as the Original Harp player and co-founder of CT’s “Easybaby”. These days, Dave (aka kosher kid) currently tours relentlessly with his own band, “Kosher Kid & The Incredible Amplifires” as well as working alongside Chicago Blues Recording Artists Mud Morganfield (Son of Muddy Waters) and Rockin’ Johnny Burgin when they’re enroute in New England. Kosher Kid has played throughout New England for 30 years working alongside and supporting many greats including James Cotton, Anson Funderburgh, Sam Meyers, Southside Johnny, Ronnie Earl, Bruce Katz, Sugar Ray Norcia and the Bluetones, Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, Junior Wells, Matt Guitar Murphy, Junior Watson, Roomful Of Blues, James Montgomery, Spin Doctors, Mitch Chakour and many more!
RICKY “KING” RUSSELL BAND:
Ricky is one of Blues most seasoned performers and one of a handful of today’s Cream of The Crop Blues Guitar Slingers! Taking his cue from Blues masters, Ricky plays with passion and style. His 4 CDs are radio favorites and featured on Dan Akroyd’s House of Blues Radio. Described as “Volcanic” by the Boston Globe, Ricky always delivers from the heart, appearing with such notables as David “Honey Boy” Edwards, John Lee Hooker, Eddie Clearwater, Mighty Sam McClain, Ronnie Earl, Jerry Portnoy, Duke Robillard, Kim Wilson, Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton (Double Trouble), Susan Tedeschi, Roomful of Blues, James Montgomery, Sugar Ray Norcia, Debbie Davies, Steve Miller and many others. He was a featured artist at the original House of Blues in Cambridge, MA and Harvard University has bestowed upon him an honorary “Doctorate of the Blues”.
